1. Information ShiftMiles accesses or processes
ShiftMiles is designed to track mileage, organize work records, and create professional reports. The information it accesses depends on the features you choose to use.
Location information
ShiftMiles may access precise or approximate device location to track mileage, record routes, identify trip start and destination locations, detect driving activity and stops, support Work Shift and trip records, display route information, and convert coordinates into readable place or address information.
When a tracking feature requires it and you have granted the necessary permission, location access may continue while ShiftMiles is in the background. Location information is used for ShiftMiles functionality and is not sold or used for advertising.
User-entered records
ShiftMiles may process records you enter or edit, including trip classifications and notes, business purposes, jobs and work records, Work Shifts, income records, fuel or supporting expense records, odometer readings, vehicle information, Work Profile information, categories, tags, reminders, and related settings.
Device and app information
ShiftMiles may process limited device or application information needed to operate, secure, or troubleshoot the app, such as the ShiftMiles version, operating-system information, app configuration, and diagnostic information relevant to a problem.
Voice entry
If you choose voice entry, ShiftMiles uses your device's speech-recognition capabilities to convert speech into text for an editable record. ShiftMiles itself is not intended to retain raw audio. On-device recognition is preferred where available. If the device uses a platform speech service that processes audio remotely, that processing is subject to the platform provider's terms and privacy practices.
Support, bug reports, and feature requests
If you choose to send a support request, bug report, or feature request, the submission may include information you enter, optional contact information, ShiftMiles version information, limited device or operating-system information, and diagnostic details relevant to the issue. Support submissions are user-initiated.
Backups, reports, and exports
ShiftMiles can create reports, backup files, and exports containing records you have stored in the app. Depending on what you choose to create, those files may include mileage, trip, work, income, fuel, vehicle, odometer, or related information. You control where manually created files are saved or shared.
2. How information is used
Information processed by ShiftMiles may be used to:
- Track mileage and create trip records.
- Maintain, classify, organize, and correct trip and work records.
- Calculate mileage totals and related statistics.
- Generate reports, PDF files, CSV files, JSON files, and backups you request.
- Support app-lock, backup, restore, and record-integrity features.
- Convert voice input into editable text when you choose voice entry.
- Diagnose technical problems and improve reliability.
- Respond to support and privacy requests you send to us.
3. Local-first data storage
ShiftMiles is designed with a local-first approach. Detailed mileage, trip, income, fuel, odometer, vehicle, and work records are primarily kept on the user's device rather than requiring complete driving history to be stored on INHER1TOR LABS servers.
Information may leave the device when you choose a feature that requires it, such as submitting a support request, sharing a report, saving a backup to another location, using speech recognition, or using mapping or geocoding services needed to display or identify locations.
4. Location and background tracking
Location permission is necessary for mileage-tracking features. ShiftMiles is intended to request the level of access needed for the feature you choose. If background location is required to continue tracking while the app is not on screen, the app should explain that use before requesting the permission as required by the platform.
You may deny or revoke location permission in your device settings. Mileage-tracking features that depend on location may be unavailable or limited when permission is not granted.
5. Mapping, speech, and platform services
ShiftMiles may rely on device, mapping, networking, geocoding, speech-recognition, and app-store services to provide features such as maps, readable location names, voice entry, distribution, installation, purchases, or device functionality. Those services may process network requests or related technical information according to the applicable provider's privacy practices.
ShiftMiles does not use these services to sell location information or to build advertising profiles.
6. Information sharing
INHER1TOR LABS does not sell personal information. Information may be transmitted or made available to another service when reasonably necessary for a feature you choose to use or to operate ShiftMiles, including:
- Mapping or geocoding services.
- Device and operating-system services.
- Speech-recognition services used for voice entry.
- Storage destinations you choose for backups, reports, or exports.
- Services used to receive user-initiated support submissions.
- Apple or Google services associated with app distribution, installation, purchases, or device functionality.
Information may also be disclosed when required by law, legal process, or when reasonably necessary to protect users, INHER1TOR LABS, or the security and integrity of ShiftMiles.
When INHER1TOR LABS selects a service provider to process ShiftMiles data on our behalf, we require that provider to protect the information in a manner consistent with this policy and applicable law. Services you choose independently, such as a destination where you share an exported file, are governed by that provider's own terms and privacy practices.
7. Advertising and sale of data
ShiftMiles does not use conventional third-party advertising such as banner ads, interstitial ads, or rewarded video ads. INHER1TOR LABS does not sell precise location information, driving history, or ShiftMiles business records for advertising or as a data product.
8. Security
INHER1TOR LABS uses reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect information handled by ShiftMiles. Depending on the device and feature configuration, ShiftMiles may use protections such as app lock or biometrics, encrypted backup files, backup-integrity checks, secure device storage mechanisms, and security protections included in released versions of the app.
No electronic storage or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Security also depends on your device, operating-system protections, backups, and the destinations where you choose to save or share files.
9. Data retention
Records stored locally in ShiftMiles generally remain on your device until you delete them, replace or restore the app's data, clear the app's data, or remove the app in a way that removes local data. Backup and export files remain wherever you choose to save them until you delete them there.
Support submissions and related information may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to investigate or resolve the request, respond to you, maintain an appropriate support history, protect the security or integrity of ShiftMiles, resolve disputes, or meet legal obligations. Information that is no longer reasonably necessary for those purposes may be deleted.
10. Your choices and data control
Depending on the feature, you may:
- Grant, deny, or revoke location and other device permissions.
- Review, classify, edit, or delete supported ShiftMiles records.
- Create and delete backups or exports you control.
- Choose whether to use voice entry.
- Choose whether to submit support information.
- Uninstall ShiftMiles and remove locally stored app data, subject to the device platform's backup and restore behavior.
For personal information held by INHER1TOR LABS through support or other direct interactions, you may request access, correction, or deletion where applicable by using our privacy request form or emailing inher1torlabs@gmail.com. Legal, fraud-prevention, security, or recordkeeping obligations may require limited retention in some cases.
11. Children
ShiftMiles is designed for people who use a vehicle for work, business mileage, and related recordkeeping. It is not designed or marketed as a children’s app. We do not knowingly seek to collect personal information from children through ShiftMiles. If we learn that personal information was submitted by a child in circumstances where applicable law requires parental involvement, deletion, or other action, we will take appropriate steps.
12. Tax and financial information
ShiftMiles provides mileage, recordkeeping, reporting, and organizational tools. It does not provide legal, accounting, or tax advice and does not file tax returns on behalf of users. Users are responsible for reviewing their records and deciding how information from ShiftMiles should be used for tax, accounting, reimbursement, or other purposes.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when ShiftMiles features, data practices, service providers, platform requirements, or applicable law change. When we make a material change, we will update the effective date above and provide additional notice where appropriate.
